Peter Vice and William Hunter are both well established and respected in the legal community and in the City of Ottawa and the Ottawa Valley at large. Marc Labrosse, Lynn Le Mesurier and Gregory Meeds have developed successful practices wherein each has obtained valuable experience in various legal disciplines. Jean-François Lalonde, the newest member of the firm draws on his experience in the field of human resources to augment his legal skill and knowledge.

Peter Vice, in addition to his prominent legal practice in municipal and planning law, has served as the Chairman of the Ottawa Police Services Board for two terms, has been a part-time lecturer at the University of Ottawa and Algonquin College, has acted as an Executive Member and President of the Carleton County Law Association, and was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Ottawa Civic Hospital. Mr. Vice was also given the great honour in 1999 to be invited by the Parliamentary Centre to join a junket to China to give seminars on the Ontario Municipal Act and the Planning Act in aid of the Chinese initiative to incorporate

William R. Hunter

William Hunter has established himself as a superior litigator in the Ottawa Courts, including the Court of Appeal, where he has had numerous successes. In addition, Mr. Hunter has been a seminar leader at the Ottawa Bar Admission Course, a lecturer at the University of Ottawa, a Member and Chairman of the Gloucester Committee of Adjustments and a former Councillor of the City of Gloucester. Mr. Hunter' s litigation practice includes a broad range of cases from commercial, to personal injury, to employment and construction matters. Years of experience have well-equipped him not only to litigate effectively but to achieve advantageous settlements for his clients.


Marc R. Labrosse

Marc R. Labrosse, a partner in the firm, also worked as an associate with Vice & Hunter from his Call to the Bar in 1996. Mr. Labrosse is fluently bilingual and, having obtained his law degree and completed the Bar Admission Course in French, serves his clients in both official languages. Mr. Labrosse has been very successful at Ontario Municipal Board hearings and in civil litigation hearings and trials. In addition to his busy legal practice in municipal law and civil litigation, Mr. Labrosse taught Municipal Law at the University of Ottawa Law School for the 2001-2002 school year and has been the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Community Legal Services (Legal Aid Clinic).


Lynn Le Mesurier

Lynn Le Mesurier articled with Vice & Hunter and was called to the Bar in 1995. Ms. Le Mesurier subsequently formed a partnership with Lisa Sidoli where she practiced in the areas of real estate, corporate, and estate law. In July 2000, Ms. Le Mesurier returned to Vice & Hunter to practice in the areas of residential and commercial real estate, corporate law, wills and estate administration. Ms. Le Mesurier has obtained Certification from the University of Windsor and Stitt, Feld, Handy, Houston in ADR and Advanced ADR and has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Dispute Resolution Centre for Ottawa-Carleton for the past three years.


D. Gregory Meeds

Greg Meeds became an associate of the firm after having completed his articles and being Called to the Bar in 1999. Since joining the firm, Mr. Meeds has focussed his practice in the areas of municipal, planning and development law, acting for a broad range of clients before public or approval authorities such as local councils, committees of adjustment and land division committees, and appearing before the Ontario Municipal Board on their behalf. In addition, Mr. Meeds acts for private individuals, land developers and municipalities across the region with respect to the subdivision development and registration process. Further, he acts as prosecutor for the eastern region of the Ontario New Home Warranties Program. Mr. Meeds has acted with other members of the firm on behalf of the Ottawa Transition Board and the former City of Cumberland, and continues to act for the Township of North Grenville and the Township of Beckwith.


Jean-François Lalonde

Jean-François attended the University of Ottawa for his undergraduate studies in Political Science and graduated from the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Law with an LL.B. in 2004. While pursuing his law degree, Jean-François worked as a human resource manager for a telecom company in Ottawa. After being called to the Bar by the Law Society of Upper Canada in 2005, Jean-François continued his employment with a prominent litigation firm in the Niagara region, where he had articled, until joining the VHL team in March 2006.

Jean-François practices primarily in the areas of civil litigation, municipal law, and employment law. He is a member of the Ontario Bar Association and the County of Carleton Law Association.

Jean-François is fluently bilingual and provides legal services in both French and English.
